With the fourth week due to increased Covid cases the govt was planning to close the schools in the state and by 27th of January the physical attendance of students were stopped entirely because the school was under the cluster.
Offline classes could be taken only for the first two days the rest of the classes went in online mode.
By 31st January we completed our teaching practice session successfully. But, as I needed to complete an achievement test special permission was taken from the school authority to visit the school again in the next for the same purpose.
overall as a teacher trainee it was a beautiful experience and great exposure I got from these four weeks under phase-I of the school internship.
The third week also went in a busy manner. Due to increasing no. of Covid Cases, the classes were arranged in both offline and Online mode.
It was my first experience in taking classes in Online mode. As expected the responses from online classes were very low. Network and technical issues also created interruptions in-between the classes. With these drawbacks I felt little difficult with online mode rather than offline sessions.
This week gave me the opportunity for taking Yoga, Conscientization and Physical Education Classes. This time I got an unexpected chance to take the classes in 8th Standard along with my Higher Secondary Classes.
I took Halasana as a part of the yoga class. Covered the topic, "Vitamin Deficiency and related Diseases" in Physical Education and "Road Safety and related Issues" was taken as a part of conscientization class. An appreciable interest was shown among the children in attending the classes.
By the end of this week classes upto High School were entirely turned to be in Online Mode as per Govt instructions.
The second week went very busy. The higher secondary classes were arranged in two batches as per Govt Protocols which gave me an opportunity for taking repeated classes which could sharp my teaching abilities by understanding the mindset of my students and making them better each time.
Although, in general the student responses were not as I expected but their active participation in the Group discussions conducted showed their interest towards the subject.
The Lesson Plans could be covered effectively in this week. Effective utilization of Smart Classes could be achieved. I was able to make all the presentations such that my students could understand the concepts thoroughly.
More interactions with the students helped in developing better understanding between me as a teacher and my students. Last but not the least, the support from the teachers side was appreciable which made up my confidence on the whole.
This week gave me an opportunity to be a part of the PTA meeting conducted in the School for its arrangements and meeting the time schedule as planned.
On the whole I felt better improvements in me as a teacher and at the same time getting out the best out of my students was a target for me.
The first week of teaching practice was really an unforgettable one. It was a pleasant experience to catch up with my students and receive their love and affection. Their interest for the class itself was a right motivation for me to prepare effectively for the class..
It was all a new school for me and I was very excited. The school environment was so good. On the first day I met the Principal. She reminded me about the rules of the school and importance of discipline and classroom management. Her friendly behavior increased my confidence and I was in a relaxed mind than the last time school induction program.
Higher Secondary classes were going on in a separate building. Due to the covid pandemic situation the classes were divided into different batches. All the class rooms in higher secondary were digitally equipped which was very helpful for me to take the class. I used power point presentations in the class.
The experience in the first week was a good one. Students were also very much happy to see us there. Teachers gave us necessary instructions during the class time.
